Black Spur Inn saves Narby
By the evening of the Saturday of the fires, the Narby pub had already opened its doors to the Narby community and began supplying us with 3 meals a day. The pub was not directly affected by the fires and is a green oasis in the middle of the blackness. In addition it has a huge generator. This has meant that it has become the community centre of Narbethong, and all the support services are now ensconced there. Over the last day or two, Buxton and Marysville people have heard about it and made their way there too. So it has become the place for all Triangle residents to socialise and support each other. Thanks so much to Di, Jim, Scott and James Kennedy and their chief assistant Jo Kasch and all the volunteers who pitch in whenever help is needed. (posted via email from a Narbethong resident)
